Artists Statement
I make things.... Big lumps of stuff all wrapped around, tucked under, holding up, holding down, tied to, bolted to, concealing and revealing each other.... Big lumps of stuff that take in bits of sculpture, collage, text, drawing, painting, film, performance and anything else that takes hold of me.... I like this, this not belonging to one medium, that every piece has many existing all at once within themselves. I like this because, to me, it seems awkward and uncertain and, truth be told, that equates into my own ideas that surround my work.... i mine my own private world, the various intricacies of different relationships, mistakes made and lessons learned, the connections and the divides, the selectivity of memory and the subjectivity inherent in it all.... I try to be cryptic, my version of cryptic that is, so not to give too much away, I am secretive about where all this comes from.... So that's me then, big lumps of different stuff mined from somewhere uncertain trying to be cryptic....
