Your Art Show

20th June - 04 July 2008

Featuring: Everybody who came to the exhibition (and Milk, Two Sugars)

'Your Art Show' was one hell of a good time- a really good night this one. Milk, Two Sugars installed and branded a white gallery- white canvasses, white frames, white gnomes, white suits etc, with branded pots of paint, brushes and everything you'd need to make paintings, and in turn, destroy Red Wire.

The opening night began with a few tentative spray of paint and some painting mostly by younger kids- before suddenly paint bombs were flying in all directions, and the artists and Red Wirer's were white suited up, and the audience took aim.

The night was particularly notable for the new audience which was attracted, which thankfully included some kids, who really got into the spirit of the show, and began painting straight away. The original intention was to cover the canvasses, but for some unknown reason, more paint went on the walls and ceiling than the canvasses

Touching on themes of ownership, authorship and artistic input, Milk, Two Sugars staged what has been the most manic exhibition we've had. Who were the creators in a manic show like this? - their intention was to dispose of the artist-as-genius trait that has haunted art for ages, and turn everyone into 'creators'

By the end of the night the floor was drenched with paint bomb water, paint was absolutely everywhere and M2S and Red Wire were covered in a multitude of colours. This was the most fun and inclusive exhibition I know of, but also a complete nightmare to clean up. We will forever have stains on difficult to reach places after this one
